Senior Rails Developer

Having an accurate prediction of the future is a ridiculously unfair advantage. To get it, most businesses rely on an expert’s opinion. But studies have shown that the accuracy of predictions made by individual experts is often no better than a random guess. That means right now businesses pay billions of dollars a year to make major strategic decisions based on guesswork.

Cultivate Labs is a Chicago-based company that helps organizations crowdsource the wisdom of their employees to better predict future events, whether that’s a project milestone, sales target, or if an investment will pay off. We’re a fierce team of 6, currently working with some of the largest and most influential organizations in the world: AbbVie, AstraZeneca, GE, Bose, the U.S. Intelligence Community, and others.

We’re embarking on our next phase of growth as a company and are looking to hire a new senior Rails developer to join the team. Here’s more about the role:

Role Description

This role will touch all aspects of our development process, from new feature development on both our products, to working with clients on specific requested customizations, to bug fixes. Specifically we’re looking for someone who has:

  • 5+ years development experience;
  • 2+ years Ruby/Rails development experience;
  • Experience working directly with clients in a consultative capacity;
  • Javascript & dev ops skills a plus;

We offer all our employees:

  • A competitive salary;
  • Participation in our profit sharing plan;
  • Health care plan;
  • 401k with match;
  • Annual workstation and technology budget;
  • Maternity and paternity leave;
  • Liberal remote work policy
