If crowdsourcing can be used to alert drivers to traffic delays as soon as they happen (Waze), help you pick a restaurant for dinner (Yelp), and launch and finance new companies (Crowdfunding), consider the power of crowdsourcing for making predictions.

For the last seven years, organizations as varied as the U.S. and European Intelligence Communities, global investment banks, biopharmaceutical companies, and large manufacturers have used Cultivate Labs’ technology solutions to tap the collective intelligence of their employees, partners, and external ecosystems to make predictions they then use to guide key strategic and operational decisions.

We’re growing as a company and are looking to hire someone to work on our growing portfolio of work with governments in the U.S. and abroad. Here’s more about the role:

Director, Government Sector

Our Professional Services team provides consulting support for clients who have decided to implement our technology solutions and methodology. We guide our clients in the implementation of their new crowdsourced forecasting program through discovery and assessment, strategic and change management planning, program launch and execution, data analysis, and ongoing evaluation.

As the head of our government sector practice, your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage our portfolio of government clients in the U.S. and abroad;
  • Assist client teams in developing business strategies to solve complex client challenges;
  • Assist client teams on program planning and delivery where necessary;
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure projects are adherent to scope, timelines, and budget;
  • Establish relationships with client points of contact, and seek opportunities for growth and additional relationships;
  • Lead development and negotiation of proposals and contracts for new projects or extensions of existing projects;
  • Assist the CEO in business development efforts and formulating and implementing business strategies in the government sector.

Current or former government employees or contractors who have active or recently expired U.S. Government security clearances are strongly preferred.

This position will report to the CEO.

Skill Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in management consulting, IT business transformation consulting, similar for government agencies or non-profits;
  • Proven management experience running small to medium-sized consulting engagements;
  • Project management experience including budget, contract, and timeline management;
  • Proven mentor of junior teammates;
  • Excellent business acumen, problem-solving, and analytical skills to evaluate challenges and present recommendations in an organized manner;
  • Strong written and verbal communication, able to author diverse array of deliverables including executive level summaries, proposals, white papers, blog posts, etc.;
  • Understanding of change management principles and applications;
  • Strong quantitative background: experience in performing basic data analysis in Excel, R, or other statistical packages, and comfort working with basic statistical concepts.

We are currently fully remote and are located in Chicago, Washington, DC, Denver, Cincinnati, and New York City. We have no plans to return to an office.

For this role, you must be located in the Washington, DC area and may need to visit a Government, FFRDC, or UARC facility from time to time.

Citizenship Requirement

Because our software is used in classified settings in the U.S. Government, all engineering employees must be U.S. Citizens.
